Chair Yoga Energy Boost
Michelle Dhanoa | MAR 8
A quick, accessible movement recipe to lift your energy, wake up your spine, and reset your focus.
A short, enlivening sequence designed for moments when your energy dips, your posture collapses, or your mind feels foggy. This practice brings circulation back into your body and helps you feel alert without overstimulation.
A stable chair
Seated spinal extension
Seated twist
Arm sweep with breath
Sit tall at the edge of your chair, feet grounded. Inhale as you reach your arms overhead, lengthening your spine.
Exhale and twist gently to the right, holding the back of the chair for support. Take 2 slow breaths.
Inhale back to center, arms overhead. Exhale and twist gently to the left.
Return to center. Sweep your arms up on an inhale and let them float down on an exhale for 3–5 cycles.
Finish with one long inhale and one slow, steady exhale.
Keep hands on your thighs if lifting your arms feels tiring.
Add a gentle forward fold over your thighs if you need grounding before energizing.
Keep your back supported if sitting at the edge feels unstable.
Move slowly and avoid deep twists if you have low‑back sensitivity. Keep your knees and hips facing forward.
Mid‑afternoon slump
Before meetings
After long periods of sitting
